Massachusetts did not disappoint their former Governor Mitt Romney. With 72% of the overall vote, Gov. Romney showed his dominance in the traditionally moderate/liberal stronghold. With sizable victories in virtually every category, Romney touted his past success and future relevance. A majority of the voters in the Massachusetts primary, 51%, identified as being an independent with 69% of them throwing their support behind Romney. Only 45% of the voters in the Republican primary were actually Republicans. Of that 45%, a whopping 78% voted for their former governor. The home state advantage truly paid off with all 41 available delegates going to Governor Romney.
